Child Safety Standards.

Last updated July 4, 2026Child safety contact: support@emberdatingapp.org

Ember has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Ember is an adults-only dating platform. Any content or conduct that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors results in immediate removal, a permanent ban, and reporting to the relevant authorities.

1. Ember is for adults only.

  • Ember requires all users to be 18 years of age or older. Date of birth is collected at sign-up and accounts cannot be created below the minimum age, which is enforced at the platform level.
  • Ember offers government-ID identity verification through an independent verification provider, and verified profiles are visibly badged.
  • Any account discovered to belong to a minor, or reasonably suspected of belonging to a minor, is removed. Anyone misrepresenting their age to access the platform is permanently banned.

2. Prohibited content and conduct.

The following are strictly prohibited on Ember, with no exceptions:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, in any format, whether real, altered, or generated;
  • Any content that sexualizes, sexually depicts, or sexually solicits a minor;
  • Grooming: attempting to contact, befriend, or manipulate a minor for sexual purposes, on or off the platform;
  • Sextortion, trafficking, or the facilitation of any sexual contact with a minor;
  • Attempting to use Ember while under 18, or assisting a minor in accessing the platform.

3. Detection and moderation.

  • Ember applies automated content filtering to messages and profile content to detect prohibited material and conduct.
  • All user reports are reviewed by a human. Reports involving potential child safety concerns are treated with the highest priority.

4. In-app reporting.

  • Every profile and every conversation in Ember can be reported directly in the app, and users can block any other user instantly.
  • Child safety concerns can also be reported directly to our team at support@emberdatingapp.org.

5. Enforcement and reporting to authorities.

When CSAE content or conduct is identified, Ember takes the following actions:

  • Immediate removal of the content and permanent termination of the offending account;
  • Preservation of relevant evidence in accordance with applicable law;
  • Reporting of CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the appropriate regional and national authorities;
  • Full cooperation with law enforcement investigations.

6. Legal compliance.

Ember complies with applicable child safety and online protection laws in the regions where it operates, including mandatory reporting obligations for providers under applicable law (such as 18 U.S.C. § 2258A in the United States).

7. Child safety point of contact.
